The Action Plan for implementation of the Public Procurement Development Programme (2019-2013) of the Public Procurement Office (hereinafter: the Office), within the measure of “Strengthening Administrative Capacities and Training“ envisages the activity of conducting seminars on topic of environmental and social aspects in public procurement procedures.
With this regard, on 16 December 2022, with the support of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Regional Chamber of the Moravica and Raska administrative districts, held a seminar for contracting authorities and bidders on the topic of “Environmental and Social Elements in Public Procurement Procedures, the Impact of Changes in the Market on the Procedures and Positions and Opinions of the Public Procurement Office“.
In the first part of the seminar, the representatives of the Public Procurement Office discussed the importance of green procurement as an instrument that can significantly contribute to achieving the sustainable development goals of the Republic of Serbia, by more efficient utilisation of natural resources, as well as the importance of including social aspects in public procurement procedures, to be used as an instrument for exercising social interests in a community. A special attention was paid to the issues of implementing environmental and social aspects in public procurement procedures of both domestic and foreign contracting authorities.
The second part of the seminar was related to the topical issues the participants in public procurement procedures encounter when executing the concluded contracts, as well as the Office’s positions and opinions concerning the implementation of specific provisions of the Public Procurement Law and other regulations on public procurement.
The seminar was attended by 25 representatives of contracting and bidders from Kraljevo, Raska and Cacak.
