The representatives of the Public Procurement Office held two training sessions in March and May, with the Project of “Effective Public Procurement Serving Economic Growth“ and with the National Alliance for Local Economic Development.

The first training was held for the needs of judges and judicial assistants from special anti-corruption departments of High Courts, on topics of:

  • Presentation of Public Procurement Portal (the Portal’s functions, accessibility of information on public procurement procedures and access to the Portal);
  • Presentation of the most important elements of the Public Procurement Law;
  • Disputable issues in detecting and prosecuting abuse cases related to public procurement and
  • Most frequent irregularities in public procurement.

The second training was held for deputy public prosecutors and prosecutorial assistants of special anti-corruption departments in High Prosecutor Offices in the field of public procurement cases, on the topics of:

  • The tasks performed by the Public Procurement Office
  • The role and importance of liaison officers.

The said trainings were held in order to support further strengthening the capacities of judges and prosecutors, which can heavily contribute to the work on prosecution and detection of non-compliance on the side of participants in public procurement procedures.
